Field Execution

Standby Time

Time a crew or unit spends on location waiting — on the company man, another contractor, weather, or permits — while remaining ready to work. Usually billable at a contracted standby rate.

Why it matters before the job moves

Standby is the most commonly unbilled line in field services. If the ticket logs 6.5 hours waiting and the invoice shows zero, that's real money gone.
